Day 1: Arrival in Bangalore & Half Day Bangalore Sightseeing – Transfer to Mysore
Upon your arrival in Bangalore before 10 am, our representatives will be eagerly awaiting you at the Bangalore Airport or Railway Station, ready to embark on a local sightseeing adventure in Bangalore prior to your transfer to Mysore.
The tour commences at the Bangalore Palace, a splendid 19th-century edifice enveloped by verdant gardens in the city’s core. This site is undoubtedly a favorite among both locals and visitors, showcasing architectural marvels from a bygone era, with intricate carvings adorning the interiors of its wooden structures. Delve into the medieval castles and uncover the rich heritage of the royal families that once ruled from this magnificent palace.
Next, we will proceed to Vidhana Soudha, an emblematic structure of Bangalore celebrated for its grand façade. Constructed in 1951, it spans approximately 60 acres. We must also pay a visit to the Bull Temple, renowned as the largest temple in the world dedicated to Nandi.
Our journey continues to Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, famed for its Indo-Islamic architectural style. This palace once served as the summer retreat for the Mysorean ruler, Tipu Sultan. The interiors are adorned with floral motifs on the walls, allowing one to envision the leisurely moments spent by Tipu Sultan in this exquisite setting.
We will then proceed on our journey to Mysore, which is approximately a 3.5-hour drive from Bangalore. Abbey Falls – Nestled just 8 kilometers from the charming town of Madikeri, Abbey Falls is enveloped by lush coffee plantations and spice estates. Renowned as one of the most stunning waterfalls in the Coorg region, it plunges gracefully from a height of 70 feet into a serene pool below. A hanging bridge spans the gorge, offering visitors a breathtaking view of the cascading waters. Don’t miss the Kali Mata temple located on the opposite side of the bridge. The journey to the falls is adorned with dense vegetation, promising a truly wonderful experience.
Madikeri Fort (closed on Mondays) – Retaining its historical allure, Madikeri Fort stands as one of the most celebrated landmarks in Coorg. A magnificent example of architectural brilliance, the fort also accommodates the Madikeri Fort Museum and the Kote Maha Ganapathi Temple.
